Work on the farm can be intense sometimes. It is time-sensitive, weather-dependent, influenced by the physical environment and sometimes the emotional environment of our team. As farmer-poet Wendell Berry said, "We have neglected the truth that a good farmer is a craftsman of the highest order, a kind of artist."
Each member of our team brings different abilities to our craft: enthusiasm, kindness, focus on details, artistry, interpersonal communication, empathy, generosity, humor, patience, strength and/or diligence, among many others.
We learn from each other every day. We adjust and persevere. We grow not just vegetables…we all grow as people, too. What ties us together as a team is a love to bring you local produce, flowers and baked goods that are the fruits of our labor.
Thank you as always for supporting our work - enjoy the Labor Day holiday.
With gratitude and appreciation,
Allison Schumacher
Farm Manager
"Good farmers, who take seriously their duties as stewards of Creation and of their land's inheritors, contribute to the welfare of society in more ways than society usually acknowledges, or even knows."
- Wendell Berry
