My dear VOH friends, this weekend, I visited one of our VOH supporters, Blossom & Bloom Thrift shop in Leesburg, to learn more about their mission. Their location, at 110 W Market Street, is in downtown Leesburg, in a quaint two-story store front, very eccentric to town and they even had their own parking lot. Blossom & Bloom is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide funding to other nonprofits in the Loudoun County area. For example, Blossom & Bloom has, in the past, donated to VOH, Heeling House (my service dog, Zara's trainers), the Arc of Loudoun, and others.
I interviewed Christine Cozza, Vice President and Director of Blossom & Bloom, who very kindly provided more insight into their mission. Blossom & Bloom accepts item donations from local residents. Their most popular donations are clothing, toys, books, household goods, and shoes. Their bestselling items are clothing. I asked Mrs. Cozza how we, Loudoun County residents, can contribute to their mission in providing much needed funding to their non for profit. Mrs. Cozza indicated that making donations and stopping by to purchase or volunteer our time to their mission is critical in their effort to fund small non for profits. So my friends, after the interview, I had to browse through Blossom & Bloom's bookshelf and bought some of my favorite books and two plush animals, one who just had to be a stuffed puppy I named Paul Atreides (after Timothee Chalamet's character in Dune and Dune Part II). The prices at the store are very reasonable and affordable and I found some hidden gems such as first-edition books and some brand-new items. I really hope to go again sometime soon because I loved it there so much. I urge my VOH supporters to consider visiting, donating, or volunteering your time so we contribute in making Blossom & Bloom's mission a success. In turn, we are helping our Loudoun County community.
Till next week, my lovely VOH supporters.
